Composer and electric guitarist Tim Brady has created music in a wide range of musical genres and has been commissioned by ensembles and orchestras in North America, Europe and Australia including the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), New Music Concerts, Ina-GRM (Radio-France), the Nouvel ensemble moderne (NEM), New Music Concerts (Toronto), the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, the Esprit Orchestra, the Philadelphia-based Relâche ensemble, the Topology Ensemble (Brisbane, Australia), the Centre for Contemporary Art (Glasgow, UK) and the British string ensemble The Smith Quartet.

Since 1988 he has released eight CDs as a composer and a performer on Montréal’s Justin Time Records. He leads the electroacoustic chamber ensemble Bradyworks, and frequently performs solo concerts at venues such as The South Bank (London), Die Ijsbreker (Amsterdam), the Bang On A Can Festival (New York), Praha Alternativa (Prague), Xebec Hall (Kobe, Japan), the Festival Présence (Radio-France, Paris), The Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts (Sonic Circuits Festival - Washington, DC.), The Kitchen (NY) and the Huddersfield Festival (England). Recent projects include the premiere of Twenty Quarter Inch Jacks for 20 electric guitars, at the Festival Coup de Théâtre in November 2002 in Montréal, a new CD entitled Unison Rituals to be released in March 2003 on the Ambiances Magnétiques label, the première of a work for baritone and 8 instruments entitled Three Cities in the Life of Dr. Norman Bethune in May 2003 (a Radio-Canada commission for the Bradyworks group) and the première of the chamber opera Instant hero, with libretto by John Sobol, in November 2003.
