Theme of New York City in the Harbor Symphony by DuchesneThe Pointe-à-Callière museum asked André Duchesne to compose the 13th Symphonies portuaires (harbour symphonies). Their website tells us that the "author-composer-performer and guitarist André Duchesne will have the honour of presenting an original work to be played on the horns of ships overwintering in the Old Port. The score will include some other unusual urban instruments, from tugboat horns to bells and train whistles." The event will take place on March 4 and 11, 2007 near place Royale and Pointe-à-Callière, and it’s free. Want to know more about his work? DAME Artists in RimouskiMany DAME artists will participate to the third Rencontres de musiques spontanées (RMS3), held in Rimouski (Québec) from December 1 - 3, 2006. On December 1, Catherine S Massicotte, Brigitte Lacasse and Éric Normand will present their project Minus 3 followed by Érick d’Orion and his latest audio creation Téléphonie cellulaire. On December 2 a second double feature will be presented, this time with Les gars trans (a band featuring Frank Martel, Robin Servant and Éric Normand) and Cabina obscura featuring John Blouin and Bernard Falaise. Sunday, December 3 will see the launch of a new CD, 10 situations précaires, by James Darling, Lori Freedman, Gabriel Dionne, and Diane Labrosse. The CD launch will be followed by a presentation of Khôra, a work by Jean-François Laporte interpreted by Martin Ouellet.

The new record label &records, managed by Fabrizio Gilardino and Michel F Côté, announces two music events to be held in Montréal. Firstly, on February 10, 2005 at Casa del Popolo, a concert will feature musics by the Bernard Falaise and Martin Tétreault duo, followed by the band Bob (Éric Bernier, Michel F Côté, Guy Trifiro and their special guest Tétreault). Secondly, on February 23, 2005 at the O Patro Vys concert space, the band Foodsoon (Bernard Falaise, Alexander MacSween et Fabrizio Gilardino) will share the stage with Bob, again joined by Tétreault. DAME’s Musicians at the Guelph Jazz FestivalFrom September 8 to 12, 2004,, the Guelph Jazz Festival (ON) will present many workshops and concerts. Several DAME artists will be featured in this year’s edition. On ,September 9, Joane Hétu will be one of the guest speakers at the “Improvising Women Singing” workshop, alongside Christine Duncan, Sainkho Namtchylak and Kate Hammett-Vaughan. That same day, Kate Hammett-Vaughan will perform with Ron Samworth and Bernard Falaise will play with the duo Barnyard Drama. The night ends with a Noma concert. On ,September 10,, the “Instruments, Voices, Narratives” workshop will feature Jean Derome, Joëlle Léandre, Anne Bourne and others. In the afternoon, Derome and Hétu will give a Nous perçons les oreilles concert. Lastly, on ,September 11,, Joëlle Léandre and Les Projectionnistes will also give concerts.
