DAME Artists at Festival Voix d’Amériques, MontréalOn February 7, 2009, Poètes publics will be in concert at La Sala Rossa in Montréal for the Festival Voix d’Amériques. A shape-shifting ensemble that unites dozens of poets, performers and musicians with a desire to work and explore together in an improvisational context, Poètes publics will feature for this occasion musicians Bernard Falaise, Diane Labrosse, Martin Tétreault, Michel F Côté and Guido del Fabbro, rapper-improviser Khyro and poet-performers Catherine Lalonde, Renée Gagnon, Danny Plourde, Geneviève Blais and D. Kimm. Also, on February 13, Frank Martel and Nathalie Derome will be featured at the Cabaret DADA Surréaliste, the festival’s closing night concert.

Just before vacations, Voir journalist Olivier Robillard Laveaux put Yé-Yi-You-Ya by Frank Martel in 5th position of his “Top 10 Local Scene.” He adds: “Secret bien gardé de la scène locale, Frank Martel tisse un univers qui ne ressemble à rien. Et lorsqu’on fait de la chanson folk au Québec, Dieu sait que cette singularité est un atout.”

DAME Artists in RimouskiMany DAME artists will participate to the third Rencontres de musiques spontanées (RMS3), held in Rimouski (Québec) from December 1 — 3, 2006. On December 1, Catherine S Massicotte, Brigitte Lacasse and Éric Normand will present their project Minus 3 followed by Érick d’Orion and his latest audio creation Téléphonie cellulaire. On December 2 a second double feature will be presented, this time with Les gars trans (a band featuring Frank Martel, Robin Servant and Éric Normand) and Cabina obscura featuring John Blouin and Bernard Falaise. Sunday, December 3 will see the launch of a new CD, 10 situations précaires, by James Darling, Lori Freedman, Gabriel Dionne, and Diane Labrosse. The CD launch will be followed by a presentation of Khôra, a work by Jean-François Laporte interpreted by Martin Ouellet.

Sautons ce repas de midi is the new album by Frank Martel et L’Ouest céleste and it will be oficially launched November 11, 2003. With the help of Bernard Falaise (guitar), Eloi Deit (bass) and Michel F Côté (drums), Frank Martel made 14 great new songs, a perfect sequel to his first album, “Enjambons le désert”.
