Éric Normand

[5427]

Éric Normand is an epi-disciplinary artist and self-instrumentalist based in Rimouski. He builds his own instruments (except for a Fender electric bass), plays, and produces CDRs in very limited runs, along with real records. He is involved with several groups and likes to improvise with Catherine S Massicotte, Sébastien Cirotteau, Dominic Gagnon, Danielle P Roger, Isaiah Ceccarelli, Brigitte Lacasse, Anne-Françoise Jacques, Mario Gauthier, and many more. He is also a music reviewer and Tour de Bras's artistic director. The sound work of this music-maker follows two inter-related axes: electronic projects based on specifically-designed instrumentation and instrumental groups. In one vein or the other, improvisation is at the heart of his art.
