Aleksandar Zaric (Novi Sad, Serbia)

Born in Novi Sad (Serbia), he has been a professional multi-instrumentalist and actor, since 1985, in Yugoslavia with CirKo della Primavera, a company renowned for its radical improvisations in music and theatre. He has been living in Italy since 1991 and has worked both solo and with numerous musicians and actors (Amy Denio, Sabina Meyer, Luca Venitucci, among others), developing diverse forms of music and theatre, collaborating on many theatre, dance and film music projects. His wide ranging research into folk traditions, improvised music and everyday life is combined in the multi-media performance “Can you overcome war with Your stereophonic capabilities?”(‘00), conceived and performed with the multi-media artist Branislav Petric. It has been described by other musicians as "Avant-Folk". Since 1992 he works as street theatre actor, musician and one-man-band. Tatamata Teatro, a duo with stilt dancer and actress Serena Galella, in more than 10 years had performed in many festivals in all the regions of Italy and some European and South American countries. He is also the art director of the IFUS, International Street Music Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia.
