The balance between the market and the consumer is an unequal one. Now that the market dominates the consumer, is it still listening to him? And what if the consumer had enough (without realizing it)? Could he prevent the Great Salesman from invading his life? I cannot answer these questions, but the intellectual numbness that is spreading in our society worries me. That’s what this piece attempts to express. Many tracks of treated guitar are joined by a track of ocarina (a gift left by a friend on my answering machine…) as a sudden urge to dance arises (the drums), but… like the consumer’s brain, we skip a beat. Then again, it’s not so bad, this numbness… (the remote control?)
