Drums & laptop. Then add a third ingredient to the first two: multiple
samples. In La notte fa, Côté and A_dontigny have laid down sculptural music on a
groove. Throughout these 10 pieces, the blender is on whip. This collaboration resembles an
underwater stroll that ends badly. No foresight. They made this record on wasted time; the
right thing to do. These days, wasting one’s time is worth more than the opposite. We
invite you to do the same.

63 apparitions’ cannibal music was written for the choreographical piece of
the same name, premiered in Montréal, May 27, 2004. Estelle Clareton, Emmanuel Jouthe,
Dominique Porte, David Pressault and Catherine Tardif were both the choreographers and the
interpreters of their own solos. The choreographical piece 63 apparitions was produced by Danse
Cité in collaboration with MFC and received the financial support of the Canada Council
for the Arts.

Martin provided me with recordings of 3 solo concerts (Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday). I put together a bank of 33 short fragments (between 5 and 40 seconds each), 11 per
concert. I also created a chorus of 18 seconds (1/10 of 3 minutes), made up of 3 other
fragments, one per concert. 11 pieces of 3 minutes make des gestes défaits. Each piece
uses as sound material only 3 of the chosen fragments, one per concert. The chorus is played at
the beginning, then repeated in a different way 3 minutes later, so that it comes with an
18-second delay in each piece. Meanwhile, each piece reuses as is an audio track from the
preceding piece (the first piece reuses an audio track from the last piece). BF

Foodsoon is a rhythm & tape trio, frenetically driven by the powefull rhythm
section of drummer Alexander MacSween and guitarist Bernard Falaise. Foodsoon runs fast and
low. Added to the mix is the high-mid monomaniac textural interplay of Fabrizio Gilardino on
tape decks. This trio is mannered without mercy. They make no bones and kiss no ass. Some Love
is their first release. Cover yourself. 18 tracks recorded at the hotel2tango in February and
March 2005, about 40 minutes of Raw Rhythmic Music (the infamous RRM described years ago by a
young John Lydon).

The fourth cd from this continually evolving Montréal band. Having given
themselves the privilege of perpetual laboratory, klaxon gueule have this time produced a kind
of soiled salon music. Fake feathers, the coop at once acoustic, electric and digital, chicken
counts nothing before it’s hatched. The voice, discrete, yet headless, goes from left to
right. There is an extra-solar quality to this new offering from Klaxon Gueule.
